Corporate Graduation Ceremony – June 12 – 2:00 pm
As shared previously, our Corporate Graduation Ceremony will be held on June 12.  We are now ready to announce that this ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm, the same time for which graduation was originally scheduled.  In the coming weeks, we will be sharing additional details about accessing the ceremony.

Individual Graduation Ceremony – June 13 – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
We are working with the Salem Civic Center staff to plan the details for this event.  Just yesterday we decided to schedule this event from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 13.  This time frame will prevent us from conflicting with previously scheduled events on the Civic Center property.  To allow for appropriate social distancing and to keep wait times as short as possible, we have broken the class up into the following 4 groups:

  • 10:00 – 12:00   Ahlers – Crawley

  • 12:00 – 2:00     Cross – Jones

  • 2:00 – 4:00       Kelley – Robertson

  • 4:00 – 6:00       Robinson – Wright

There will definitely be some people who have unavoidable conflicts with their scheduled times.  We will address those issues at a later date when we share additional details.  For now, we would ask families to go ahead and block off their individual graduation time on their calendars.  Details about the route, what will take place during the individual ceremony, and how many people can attend will be shared at a later date.

Pictures Needed
To help with a portion of our corporate graduation ceremony, could each graduate email me (shabeeb@salem.k12.va.us) the following:

  • 1 favorite casual picture of just the senior from Senior Year

  • 1 favorite high school memory picture from any time during high school (group shots preferred)

Turning in Chromebooks/Textbooks and Collecting Personal Belongings
This will be done in early June.  More information will be sent home in the coming weeks about how we will collect Chromebooks and textbooks from seniors and when the school will be available for collecting  personal belongings.

I have no doubt many people have questions about specific details.  I promise that as those details are figured out, we will keep the Class of 2020 in the loop.

You are loved and appreciated,

Scott Habeeb
